It was made in Japan (Morioka) by the famous Iwachu family company, which has specialized in iron processing for over 100 years.

The lotus flower represents the purity of body and soul. From a metaphorical point of view, the muddy waters in which the lotus grows symbolize affection and carnal desires, and its flawless flower is the hope of salvation. Legend has it that when Buddha was born, he began to walk and a lotus flower appeared at every step.

The sacred lotus is also associated with longevity: seeds found in China's Liaoning province have sprouted after being dormant for over 1,300 years!
