 Founded in 1708, the Shoyeido factory produces pure incense that is expertly handcrafted from only the healthiest and most natural ingredients. For over 300 years, Shoyeido has produced some of the finest and highest quality incense, standing on par with the likes of Nippon Kodo and Baieido. Incense from this factory has its own "face" and unique aromas created according to traditional Japanese recipes, they do not contain synthetic oils and fragrances. There are no animal ingredients and they do not do animal testing.

 Unlike most incense, Shoyeido's mixing methods for their incense sticks do not require a bamboo core. Therefore, the scent you enjoy is the scent of pure incense, not the smoke of an excess wood base.

Shoyeido also believes in "clean business". They use recycled paper and non-toxic soy-based ink whenever possible. They also use energy efficiency techniques in their offices and production areas.
