Traditionally, the ceremony of incense was available only to the court nobility, feudal lords and other layers of wealthy people. Among commoners, few could touch this exquisite culture, and only with time, the gates of the world of fragrances opened for ordinary people.

The most revered scent was undoubtedly kyara. The word kyara (aloe tree)  was designated by the general term as for 'something wonderful.' Kyara has been used everywhere, such as aloe-scented hair wax, aromatic sachet in clothing, or agar-scented essential oil.
